Engaging Kawaru
Our preferred approach to working with our clients is to
take several days up front to understand the issues, risks, opportunities, and
success factors associated with a potential engagement; and to agree on an
approach and results that will achieve the client’s business objectives.
Typically we will not bill this time to the client. If Kawaru can assist you
effectively in
delivering
the agreed upon approach and results, we will then
quote a fixed price for our involvement going forward; if not, we will recommend
other firms that we have found to be competent.
During the formative stages of a consulting or
research project, we have often seen that the internal client sponsors need to
obtain support and funding from client executives. Our experience has been that
we can often make that case most effectively to your CFO or CEO, based on our
background with similar companies or industries, and our familiarity with the
business metrics and presentation style favored by that level of audience.
While we will consider responding to Requests for
Proposal, in general we find most RFP processes do not provide enough
information to tailor a fixed price proposal to the underlying business
requirements and success measures of the client.
